Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and film actress who is known for her role as the fierce attorney Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. Contractor was given the lead character in Pericles following a brief time at University. She was a part of the audition for it during the Stratford Shakespeare Festival (Ontario Canada) and won. Her performance was lauded for the 92 shows that she performed in. She won the 2002 award for the most outstanding production of the Year by Canadian critics. She was offered the opportunity to enroll in the Stratford Conservatory. The school is a private institution that accepts just eight men and four women for a crash course in the art of classical theatre. Contractor eagerly accepted. The actress's spot in the next production was secured, and she was offered the part as Hermia.
